Nightfall – Vampires

For me Vampires have 3 modes.

  1. Euro snob Aristos who look nice and can kill in an instant (Dracula)
  2. Demon-looking things who will rip you limb from limb (Buffy)
  3. Kickass Leather wearing warriors (Underworld)

That’s obviously pretty basic, but ideally my nightfall vampires can do any of these.

All vampires get a Vampire power set and a second power set for gear and/or training or special abilities.

Basic Vampire Power set:

Vampire

SFX. Regeneration. Spend a PP to heal all Physical Stress, or step back physical Trauma by 1.
Limit. Vampire. Gain a PP when affected by vampire specific milestones, complication or Tech. Step-up damage from Silver, Fire and UV by one.

To add to that, spend dice on powers and specialities depending on power level:

  • Young/Weak 15 dice
  • Medium 20 dice
  • Old/Strong 30 dice
  • Ancient/Uber 40 dice

a dice means d6=1, d8=2 etc. and SFX cost 1 die. Limits are free.

Vampire Power set additions: 

These are powers all vampires should be allowed, Most should be limited to d10.

Attack (Claws/Bite), Movement (Wall Crawling, Leaping), Reflexes, Senses, Speed, Strength, Stamina, Durability, Appearance, Charisma.

SFX: Dangerous (Claws), Area Attack(speed), Invulnerable

Special power sets:

These are the bonus powers vampires could have:

Mental Attack, Emotional Attack, Intangibility(Smoke/Swarm Form), Invisibility, Flight, Resistance, Shapeshifting, Sorcery, Teleport, Psychic Powers (Mind/Animal control, Telepathy)

Gear – Weapons and Armour
Minions – Animals etc like lockheed.

SFX: Invulnerability, Immunity, Berserk, Afflict, Area Attack, Dangerous, Second wind, Focus, Constructs (sorcery)

Limits: Exhausted, Conscious activation, Gear

Note on gear. Most weapons and armour should be limited to d6 or d8.

Old Vampire
Speed d10, Reflexes d10, Strength d10, Durability d8, Stamina d10, Leaping d8
SFX: Invulnerability – Physical Stress.
SFX: Regeneration. Spend a PP to heal all Physical Stress.
Limit. Vampire. Gain a PP when affected by vampire specific milestones, complication or Tech. Step-up damage from Silver, Fire and UV by one.

Scary Old Vampire
Cause Fear (emotional Attack) d10
SFX: Afflict – Fear
Limit: Scary old vampire only works on younger creatures, and not ghouls.

Specialities
Combat d10, Covert d10, Menace d10
